Pastor E.J Tyson
E. Jennings Tyson is the son of the late Edward and Nellie Tyson. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Philosophy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU). While attending SWOSU, Rev. Tyson was ordained as the Assistant to the Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church where he assisted in establishing a college and young adult ministry.
At the young age of 24, Rev. Tyson preached his first sermon as Pastor-Elect of the New Hope Baptist Church in Vernon, Texas and was installed later that year. For the next 17 years Pastor Tyson led the congregation to do great things spiritually, physically and financially.
Pastor Tyson founded Mission Gospel Train Ministries, Inc. (MGTM) which continues today to air Mission Gospel Train (MGT) on radio, News Talk 1290 a.m. and on television, since 1997 which airs on the Christian Family Network (CFNT), Channels 10/24.1 Wichita Falls, TX, every first Thursday, 8:00-9:00 p.m. In 1997, he also helped establish the Texhoma Mass Choir composed of singers, musicians, songwriters, spiritual dancers and evangelism ministry of Southern Oklahoma and Northern Texas. During 2011, he expanded MGT into the Greater Oklahoma City area on KSBI Channel 52. In the latter part of 2011, Pastor Tyson further expanded MGT on KAUT Freedom 43 every Sunday morning, 6:00 a.m. — 6:30 a.m.
